Gorillas in Uganda Bwindi Forest

Embark on an 8-day Uganda Safari of a lifetime.

 

On this trip, you will visit the Mountain Gorillas in their natural habitat in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Further, you are going to encounter other primates, such as Chimpanzees and many different other monkeys in Kibale Forest National Park.

You will visit Uganda’s most popular National Park – Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you can encounter lots of different Antelopes, Buffaloes, Hippos, Warthogs, Elephants, Giraffes, Hyenas, Lions, and other animals.

This trip also includes Lake Mburo National Park. Even though it is a small Park, it is still very beautiful and you can encounter different animals, such as Zebras and with a little bit of luck, you might see Leopards too.

You can also go for a walking safari.

Day 1:

 

After your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be picked up at the airport and brought to your accommodation.

Depending on your arrival time you might have a chance to visit the Botanical Gardens in Entebbe or visit the Mabamba Swamp for a bird-watching tour.

Day 2:

After breakfast, you will travel to Kibale Forest, having a lunch break on the road. After arrival you will check in at your Lodge, have dinner and relax.

Day 3:

After early breakfast you will go into the forest in search of the Chimpanzees. During your Chimpanzee tracking you will encounter different other monkey species as well as many tropical birds.

After lunch you can visit the Bigodi Swamp, where you can spot a lot of different birds, monkeys and observe a beautiful landscape and nature.

After the Bigodi Swamp walk, you will proceed to your Lodge at Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 4:

 

Morning Game drive in the Kasenyi plains, where you can spot Antelopes, Elephants, Hippos, Warthogs, Lions, and Buffaloes, among other wildlife.

You will have lunch at the Lodge. After lunch, you will embark on a boat tour of the Kazinga Channel. You can spot Birds, Crocodiles, Hippos, and other animals coming to the river.

Day 5:

After breakfast, you will start your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The journey takes 5-7 hours depending on traffic and road conditions.

After arrival at the Lodge, you will have dinner and relax, enjoying the fresh air of the Forest. You might get visitors, curious monkeys, from the Forest coming to your Lodge.

 

Day 6:

This is the day with the highlight of this trip. After early morning breakfast, you will go deep into the Forest tracking the Gorillas.

Sometimes it can take longer, sometimes you may encounter them quite early in your hike.

You will have time to spend with the Gorillas for about 30-60 minutes. After this encounter, you will head back to the Lodge.

Day 7:

 

After breakfast at the Lodge, you will travel to Lake Mburo National Park. In this National Park, you will do game drives or if you wish, you can do a walking safari.

 

Day 8:

After breakfast and checkout at the Lodge, you will travel back to Entebbe, Kampala, or your next destination.

On this journey, you will cross the Equator for the second time, where you will get the chance for pictures of the famous spot. You can also get several souvenirs and have a lunch break before you continue with your trip.
